Just got back from Mars Hill and the Isn't She Beautiful conference. What an experience! I guess the thing that was so amazing is how many hurting pastors there are in the world. It was a nice thing knowing that I am not alone. However, it was also depressing to see that here are people who are basically giving their lives up for the church and all that the church does is destroy its pastors. They chew them up and spit them out. I wept several times and the despair in the room was overwhelming. It was defintely a time of healing and restoration. To be honest though, coming back was a hard thing to do. But, we are here and trying to make a difference in teens lives. They are the church and if I can help them see what the church is supposed to be then maybe in two years the church will begin to change. All i can hope is that by the time Caleb is an adult, there is a place that he can be faithfully Christian in the world that we live in. Maybe when he is older, we will no longer be fighting "worship wars" but have a church that is faithful to the call the Jesus has placed on the church. It is quite frustrating! But there is hope because the tomb is empty! But for crying out loud, why can't it be today?
